MICHELE SPEARS director:

Michele Spears is a musical theatre director/choreographer and a veteran of the Edinburgh Festival. She has received L.A. Weekly, Dramalogue, New York Nightlife, and Santa Barbara Independent Awards for her stage work, as well as an L.A. Choreographers' Award nomination for the feature film, Billy's Hollywood Screen Kiss. She has worked for theatre organizations including The Musical Theatre Guild at The Pasadena Playhouse, The Academy of New Musical Theatre, The Contemporary Musical Theatre Company of Santa Barbara, Cornerstone Theatre, Santa Barbara Civic Light Opera, the L.A. Gay Men's Chorus and London's Mercury Music Development Company.

She's had the honor of working with such musical talents as Joanna Gleason, Jason Alexander and Mr. Jerry Herman, and has performed in numerous musicals including U.S. and European tours. Michele co-created and directed the improvised musical Cattle Call for L.A. Theatresports/Impro Theatre, where she is a long-time company member and teacher. As an improvisor, she has appeared in comedy festivals world-wide and as a regular on the television series "World Cup Comedy" - produced by Kelsey Grammer. She is a graduate of New York University's Tisch School of the Arts and regularly teaches improv and acting for the University of Southern California, UCLA, The Acting Corps, L.A. Artists in Residency Program and Harvard-Westlake School.
