Jonah Platt is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania (not Penn State!), with a major in Creative Writing and minors in Film Studies and Music. In his younger days, Jonah appeared in over 25 musicals, at both the scholastic and semi-professional level. As a junior at Harvard-Westlake School in North Hollywood, CA, Jonah founded the Scene Monkeys, a student improv troupe now in its sixth year. Since its inception, the group has performed at a variety of venues, including The Improv in Hollywood. He has appeared in three Edinburgh Fringe Festivals (including one with One Night Stand), and was the lead in the play Nightswimming, for which he and his cast earned honors from The Scotsman as "the best young ensemble at the Fringe." At Penn, Jonah is the musical director of Off The Beat, the nation's #1 best-selling co-ed collegiate a cappella group. In his tenure with the group, he has produced two award-winning studio albums, written over 25 arrangements, and sung several award-winning solos.

As the lead singer and guitarist of LA band Petoria, Jonah has performed on the stages of The Roxy, The Troubadour and The Whisky A-Go-Go. He has also studied improv at The Groundlings School in Los Angeles and the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater in New York City. He ran a summer improv program for high schoolers in California and taught musical theater at The Adderley School for the Performing Arts, where he wrote and directed a musical stage adaptation of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. A former intern of Comedy Central's The Daily Show With Jon Stewart, Jonah currently writes a tv/film/music blog called Media Maven Musings (mediamm.wordpress.com), which has been read by over 75,000 unique visitors since its creation last year. His proudest accomplishment to date is his founding of One Night Stand, which he began in January of 2007.
